The storage backup service lets you use a folder on your device as a backup location. After you grant the app read and write permission for a specific folder in your device storage, the app can save backup files there for you.

The app can only access the folder that you choose for backup. It cannot browse or access other files in your device storage.

Data will lose if you lose your device

If you uninstall the app, the backup files stored in the folder you selected for storage backup will not be deleted. This means that if you install the app again later, you can still restore your data from that folder.

However, these backup files are still stored on the device itself. If the device is lost, stolen, badly damaged, or its storage becomes unavailable, this part of your backup data may be lost as well.
